You Don't Have to Spend a lot to Paint Your Garage

December 25, 2024

Yes, you can purchase paint for any project to enhance or upgrade at a very reasonable price. Painting any room will bring out the beauty you expect. Knowing how to do it properly is an art; nonetheless, many people dislike painting. Before you start a painting project in your home or someone else's, you need to do a lot of prep work.

How it looked before I started

Preparation is always the most critical component in ensuring that your work is faultless and well done. When painting this garage, we purchased 6 gallons of paint for $225.00 plus manpower, which varies depending on the project. Everything hinges on the necessary tasks and the duration required for painting preparation.

Primer I used

The installed drywall wasn't the best I've ever seen or worked with. That's a completely different story. The first step was to prime the entire garage, which is one of the most crucial procedures in achieving the best possible finish with your paint work.

How it looked after applying primer

The project took some planning because the ceiling would have a two-tone finish, with a flat black in the centre and a dark grey at either end. We completed the project in three days; I don't like to apply a second coat until it is completely dry, so I apply one coat daily, which yields the best results.

Allow the primer to cure into the drywall; this takes time. I also prefer to use 150-grit sandpaper to lightly sand and polish the walls and ceilings. I do this before each application to ensure an even, smooth finish.

All the painting is down

If you need any type of work done with your home, feel free to send me a request for a quotation; I will be more than happy to accommodate your need. We do provide many other home improvement services.

The paint we used for walls and ends of the ceiling was Velvet grey

I'd like to wish all my friends and clients a very safe Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

All the Best,
